Exceptional cheese from Scotland
Isle of Kintyre Cheese — Argyll, Scotland
Family cheesemaking from Scotland’s wild west coast.
Isle of Kintyre Cheese is part of the family-run Inverloch Cheese Company, founded by David and Grace Eaton more than 30 years ago. What began with the couple making goat’s cheese at home has grown into a celebrated Scottish cheesemaking business based in Campbeltown on the Kintyre Peninsula.
The family became known for creating bold, flavoured cheddars, combining mature Scottish cheddar with herbs, spices, smoke, truffle and Scottish whiskies. Many of the original recipes developed by David and Grace are still used today.
They are also the makers of the distinctive Gigha Fruit range — mature cheddar blends individually hand-shaped and waxed to resemble apples, pears and oranges. Originally developed during the family’s time on the Isle of Gigha, these colourful little cheeses have become particularly popular at Christmas.
Still family-run, with the next generation now involved in the business, Isle of Kintyre combines traditional cheesemaking with a wonderfully playful approach to flavour.
From the Creamery: Isle of Kintyre flavoured cheddars, Scottish whisky cheddars and the Gigha Fruit Apple, Pear and Orange cheeses.
